This dairy situated in the center of Vuollerim is Sweden's northernmost farm dairy. It was inaugurated in 2018. The Fjällko milk for the cheeses is delivered from the unique Swedish Mountain Cows at Vuollerim Farm. Together, these village-owned-companies contribute to preserving the landrace Fjällko.
Vuollerim Farm is the home of milking Fjällkor (Swedish Mountain Cattle). Their milk is used by the village's local dairy 'Mathantverket' to make products such as the hard cheese Gärda. Gärda cheese has been awarded a bronze medal at the world championships in the category of long-aged hard cheeses, newcomers!
Spegeldammen (The mirror dam) is part of the Little Lule River right where the river bends at the village Vuollerim. It is a very popular and spectacular bathing spot, well worth a visit! At low tide, cars can pass. Follow the sign "Ekopark" north of the cemetery.
Vuollerim kartingring
Vuollerim Kartingring is the world's northernmost approved go-kart track and Norrbotten's longest. The track is 1,078 meters long and 8 meters wide. The course is environmentally certified and the entire facility is handicapped accessible. Rent go-karts, train and compete in karting in Letsi, 10 min from Vuollerim.
Check out Vuollerim's slalom slope! Several slopes, good coffee, burgers and more in Dalstugan. Bomyrberget is also the starting point for several well-kept cross-country ski trails. Summertime offers several hiking trails and not to mention an intensive training challenge to get up the steep hill of the slalom slope!
You can book a dog sled ride with local companies. There are longer and shorter tours to choose from.
SWIMMING IN SANDTJÄRN
Next to the campsite, there is a small lake where you can swim. There are changing rooms and a playground by the beach.
Fishing At The Porsi Lakes
The Porsi Lakes consist of 14 lakes where you can fish both in summer and winter. Most of the lakes have wind shelters and fire pits. The Porsi village association stocks the lakes with fish every year.
